Slicer (Work in Progress)

Slicer is a slit scan camera that has the ability to combine multiple views overlayed into a captured single frame. The process of combining various images into a single frame creates new opportunity for readings of space that can reveal the pace at which an image is created in relation to its surroundings.

The manually controlled film back, requiring the user to only operate the film back capture time, allows the camera to become active with the users own tempo. The camera was developed to be deployed in Kazakhstan to convert a train carriage into a cameratic device, but failed in execution, leaving its purpose currently open to new interpretations.
